    Just my thoughts,but I think its a victorian "sunday painter" but not without talent. I really like the way they handled the sky and trees and the campfire. I see "MTM" for the initials .

    Bit of a genre... Indian Campfire. But think it a bit later. Edwardian.

    I see a woman standing, (maybe that is a child to the right, can't really tell), a cast iron kettle suspended from the poles above the fire.

    I don't think that is an Indian Campfire.

    Initials are MMT.

    Cluttered: I didn't think they were Indian people either. Now why is that?

    I like it but agree with Johnny about being a "Sunday Painter", I have taken some short classes on landscape painting and one of the first things they said was not to make a river or creek that extends straight off into the distance. I still do think it was made by a talented artist.:)
