Old Light Bulbs -possible give away

I have 2 lightbulbs that came from my grandmothers home (a tiny fishing community in Newfoundland). Im uncertain if they can or would be used or if there is even a purpose for them any more?

Was considering to put them in the give away category but think they would have to be local. Dont think they would ship well.

Do they still have a purpose if a bulb is just temporary or outdated?

JMHO. give them away. some models are available new. the second one seems to have been made for the French market, perhaps brought in by a French immigrant.

Agree with Fid.

In terms of practical use, these types of old bulbs are pretty flaky in the voltage department.

If you were to plug it into a lamp socket, you'd probably fry it. To test if they are in working order, you'd need to use a volt/ohm meter to run a test.

 

I'd take a chance on them for a friend who collects such things.

 

I'd sell them.
Someone with old lamps might want to use it for display.

 

I would sell it as well. I've sold several very old lightbulbs on ebay in the past.

There are bulb collectors that will pay well

If listed on feebay, your listing will be hard for them to distinguish from all the new Chinese ones

 

Certain ones command a decent buck. I saw the same Edison as above in a slightly higher wattage sell recently for $18 USD...and only 1 bid.
