When I acquired this pot it had some metal shaving in it. What are the 4 protrusions on the side of the pot Help ID the mark

The mark reads Germany to me.
The side protrusions may have been support knobs that held the pot in position on a stand. Called tilting tea kettle. (or teapot)

The tilting ones on a stand are also sometimes called a "spirit kettle." My impression from seeing fancy silver ones is that they held only hot water, kept hot by sitting over a "spirit burner" (think Sterno.)
