Old Rocking Horse (Info Request)

    Wondering if anyone knows any information about this rocking horse I found at an estate sale in Viriginia, please? Looked online, and although I found a couple similar looking RH's I didn't find anything that matched completely. It's 18 inches long and 12 inches tall, so I am guessing it's a toy RH made for a doll (?) but not sure. Just wondering what type of wood it is likely made from and timeframe it might have been manufactured. ANY info would be greatly APPRECIATED! THANKS!!!

    Is it just me or does the paint look like modern "folk" painting?

    The head appears to be of plywood...an' possibly jig-sawn versus band-sawn. I like it!
