Hello I've been out with my detector and I found this silver dog head, it's made out of two pieces and has multiple markings on it would be grateful if anyone had any information about it.

Birmingham England, sterling silver, assayed in 1909.

Have no clue "what" it is, but that's the where, when and of what it was made.

It's shaped oddly for that; it looks like it came off a handle for something, but something with a narrow diameter. It might be from a desk implement of some kind.

Riding crop, I suspect. We don't do bolos. ;)

    Hi,
I agree with OBB. Looks like the end of a riding crop.

Too small for riding crop, bolos from England?

More inclinded to think watch fob, watch key, jewelry, or something of the like.

    Can't be more than 1/2 - 1 inch

They filled them with pitch, including many cane/walking stick handles.

Yup, often filled and it's small enough for a decorative dressage style crop.
