Featured Old Stand

Hi Folks,
Looking for an opinion about this stand. First off, how old and what style? Secondly, plant stand, telephone table...? It looks to me as if there were maybe little feet added - see photo. Also, the top has been reattached at some point. Type of wood? Thank you all for your help.

 

It appears to be Eastlake, around 1890s. I believe a plant stand but I could be wrong. Yes, someone tried to fix those legs, doesn't look too bad.

Yes, I think that's correct.
Late victorian isn't in much demand these days even when in perfect condition which this is not.
Can't tell wood species as the finish & photo is so dark, guesses walnut or mahogany, the repair piece on foot looks like mahogany.
Not in my area of interest so wait for others to post.

 

I'd call it a Renaissance Revival walnut plant stand ca. 188-90. Not much demand for that these days, as James said, unless it's in near-mint condition. A nice enough piece, but I would expect that it would bring less than $100 at auction in my part of the U.S. Midwest.

 

Agree with Ghopper..... Renaissance Revival. Usually in walnut but can't tell from this pic.
