Hoping someone might know the origin of this jug. 7 1/2" tall and the base measures 3 1/4" across.

I thought so too! PSA: Always look down at bottom shelves when shopping at thrift stores!

I am looking thru Crocker Farms past auctions. This may be New England Redware.

The clay is red, correct? Also is there a slight green hew to the ground? The green you want to see can sometimes be a very muted grayish olive green.
Those orange spots are sweet, looks like what’s often attributed to redware from Gonic, NH but Gelana, IL. is another possibility, what part of the country did you find it?
    I’d also recommend contacting crockerfarm.

Anundver. Found in Westerly RI. I did send an email with pics to Crocker Farms just a bit ago. The clay is red (brick color)

Its got that late 1600s to early 1700s look to it, it could also be a reproduction old jug. Its nice, I like it.

I was going to say it looks like a undecorated bellarmine jug until I saw your avatar photo :) It looks old to me as well, but I'm no expert.

I'd get it looked at by an expert, even if it did turn out to be something more recent its still a nice piece.
