Old Tea Set

    Hi there,

    I came across this tea set and I was wondering if somebody could tell me more about it. Also if you have a rough idea of how much it is worth. Thanks in advance.

    Looks like a typical "courting couple" design. Likely made in Japan, possibly mid-20th century. Value would be minimal, it's not a particularly sought after design and is rather commonly found.
    There may be others here with a different opinion, we'll see!

    I agree. Something a 1940s-ish housewife would have found pretty for entertaining her friends. You can look at eBay Completed sales for an idea of collector interest. Here's an Active listing for a very similar saucer. The key words "lusterware" and "burgundy" may help in your search.
