    Hello to all,

I'd like to identify and date this old tureen with lid and its original plate.
On the back of the plate, there is a golden number, I seem to read 3566 and then a very small logo (see photos)

In style it seems Victorian to me, but I rely on your esteemed opinions for a more adequate identification

The height of the tureen, with the lid, without the plate, is 15 cm.
The diameter of the plate, in the longest part, is 26 cm

Thank you all for the answers :)

    Gianluca

    Very pretty, Gianluca.
Not everyone you tagged knows much about antique European ceramics, but those that do, will be along. You posted it in the right forum.

I think you have a sugar bowl and cake plate. Tureens have cutouts in the lids for ladles. I don't think that's a mark on the bottom, just a rough spot.

    Thanks for your reply .
So it means that it's a big Sugar bowl, maybe you're right, yeah .
By your point of view, could it be Victorian style, dating back to the end of the 1800s? They sold me all this with the nomenclature "Victorian, late 19th century" I would like to find feedback through your opinions.
    Thanks

this golden number, 3566, or 33-66, should belong to a catalog number of the era, what I would need to know is the origin, I believe England, because the style is probably Victorian, and the era, maybe late 1800 or early 1900 ?
These are the two elements that I need as a priority, origin and age.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Usually the gold paint numbers on the back are usually an id # for the person who decorated the piece. People were paid for their work individually.
