Featured Older pottery piece, matte gray/blue with glossy yellow base.

    Got another learning item, was .65 at the thrift. There was another dealer and he picked it up and said that "the yellow base" was indicative of a certain type of pottery, School of Mines, possibly. He didn't get it, so I thought I'd buy as a learning tool.

    Looks like someone used it for a plant base possibly. Completely unsigned. Anything to be learned from the photos? Thanks.

    It's going to be difficult to get a manufacturer ID. Almost all the Ohio pottery companies made small bulb bowls like this.

    Thank you. Probably nothing worth resale, but would make a nice base for a plant. :)

    Thanks Brad. I guess this "dealer" had it half right -- that the yellow base was indicative of something!
