Featured Olive Wool US Army Coat

I found this coat and a WWII military blanket at a thrift shop today. Is the coat from the same era? It's actually a much darker olive-green in person.

Would removing the patch affect the value? It fits me perfectly, and it's a nice coat, but I feel weird keeping the patch. Is it disrespectful to wear a coat with a military patch on it, when you're not a military member?

 

I'm not sure if that is a Velcro patch there on the right breast but if it is it's not that old.
I'd look up etiquette for used military uniforms so you can learn about that and thank you for your concern.

Anything on the uniform? Should be.

I can't find anything on the uniform. It looks like the tiny tag was cut/torn off.

It's possible. There is a smaller stitched area within the knit rectangle, but that may just be a way to keep the rectangle patch flat.

 

There is no need for it though.

Still nothing. One of the pockets has a smaller pocket sewn into it made from a thinner material (cotton, possibly).

Velcro won't attach to it. It's strange. I can't find it online.

 

It is odd. Don't quite know what to make of it.
The blanket with it doesn't give any credibility really.
