I picked up this silver plate candy dish by Oneida for $1 today. I was wondering if the signature can be used to date it?

I haven't seen any dating info beyond the start of Oneida using the "cube" mark - 1965. Unless the cube is in that central part, it's only safe to say the dish is earlier than that. Any chance of seeing what that all says?

How about a look at the whole piece, while I'm asking?

I tried adding a picture of the designs on top but it's taking forever from my phone. Other than the cursive Oneida and USA, there are no other markings.

    There's the top view.

You're certain there are no tiny letters in a circle with something in the center - all in that smallest part of the underside?

Nothing at all. I found one example of this signature on a silver markings site but there was no dating to go along with it.

It's their longest standing mark for hollowware, but by no means exclusive. Other than pre-1965, that's the best I can do. The design isn't helping much either, although I do think it's between the wars.

I see what you're seeing in the center circle, but it's just dings and scratches.
