    Hi everybody!

I have bought this beautiful vase online.
    (Haven't received it yet)

Now I'm wondering if this could be (attributed to/) a Baccarat vase.

    I'm sure it's a 19th century piece.
Hand painted enamel is high quality, in my opinion.

Gold decorations seem to be a little faded.
Vase is handblown, has a rough pontilmark.

Dimensions etc. are unknown. Doesn't like too big.

    Another lovely vase, R.
Being an ex-theologian, and not a glassy, I always read pontiff mark. I always look twice, that works.

Glass and pontiffs go together well though:

Just think of the Dutch word pontificaal, and the English verb to pontificate. Ahem.:pompous:....:pompous:;)

I would doubt Baccarat. I don't believe they would leave a rough pontil. And if you'll notice both lots you cite were passed. Apparently the bidders we're not convinced those examples were Baccarat either. I would guess your example is Bohemian. We will see what others have to say.

That's possible of course. I'll at least try to make some better quality pictures when I receive it. Thanks for your response!
