Opinions on Ashanti kuduo please

Picked these up yesterday, they're Ashanti kuduo. Do we think of any age, or newer tourist replicas? Very mucky.

While it is not impossible for an authentic kuduo to be of lesser quality, most examples I am seeing have a better finish (as you noted), better fitting lids, and often hinges and/or locking mechanisms (which would be too fiddly for repros to bother with).

Thanks all! I do suspect that this is a later piece but not brand new.

I own some genuinely old Benin pieces: grandparents bought them pre WW1. These don't quite have the "feel".
