Featured Orchid Brooch In A Shoe Box

Please let me know if I havent loaded the images correctly. I posted this brooch last night but only as thumbnails.
I can't see any hallmarks on this piece but the bar seems to be a different gold to the bar piece. My grandparents lived in South America for many years so perhaps that's a clue. I think someone mentioned Venezuela last night.
I have another orchid brooch as well. Should I create another thread for that?

If it's not marked you are going to have the metal tested to know what it is. If it's gold, it's possible the flowers are a different fineness than the bar pin part, that may be why it looks different.

First though, you can check the pearls. Rub them on your front teeth, if they are gritty they are real pearls, if they are smooth they are costume. This test won't tell you if they are natural or cultured pearls and the test won't work if you have dentures.
