Oriental lamp

My grandparents brought this back from Okinawa in the 1950’s. I have had it in storage for 30 plus years. I just put a light bulb in and it turned on! The base is solid wood. The top green part is some kind of metal.
The lampshade has since been tossed. It was severely ripped in storage. The shade was like a silk material. Can anyone identify this type of lamp?

 

Sorry to hear the lampshade has been tossed. It's always a shame to lose the original shade, shaped to flatter the lamp, and they can always be recovered.

Yes. It was a very fragile frame. Vey big too! It was a pleated type of shade.
The shade was ripped and tossed during a move. It made me sad.

 

I would refer to the body of this lamp as pierced (whatever the material is: porcelain, metal, etc.) and with cherry blossoms.
