Oriental tray

  1. Hi I've acquired this tray. It's really scratched and needs work. Can I do some work on this myself that's not major restoration? IMG_20191014_170230_resize_8.jpg IMG_20191014_170211_resize_15.jpg it's quite pretty and a shame not to restore in some way. Also... Does anyone know anything about it?

I cannot help with restoring but it is Zohiko lacquer from Kyoto, Japan.

A little bit of wax might help, try a small section first to test

Would a black shoe polish work? Don't use on the gold.

I'd use clear wax, but maybe shoe polish is worth a try in the scratches?
