Featured Origin of faux coral brooch

    Please would you look at this brooch for me and help me with some search terms.
    Where do you think this came from?.
    Base metal, faux coral brooch approx 2.5 inches wide.

    It hs age, that hinge is late19th/early 20th. it does look Eastern or perhaps North African. @Any Jewelry ?

    I think I spot bubbles in it which is why I thought glass. The loupe pixies have hidden the extra spiffy magnifier at the moment :troll:

    My guess is Continental European Orientalism. On North African and Middle Eastern jewellery you don't see the design cut off by a border (cannetille part).

    The German Jugendstil did this type of Orientalist jewellery. I believe Theodor Fahrner was one of the first, but this isn't by him. He did make jewellery with elongated triangular dangles.

    Non-precious metal.:)
    In this case brass, plated with a silvertone metal.
