Hi, I just found this in an attic of a mansion in Victoria BC. it was under a dusty tarp looks like it has sat there for 20 years or so. It 2 red stamps and writing on both sides of the face of the painting. It's real not a print but I don't have any other information on it.

Does anyone know which country, artist and approx. year?

    many thanks
    Graham

Chinese brush painting, but beyond that.... ? Not a clue. I don't think it's horribly old, but we'll wait for someone who knows what she or he is talking about.

With that frame, looks as if it might be a decorative piece.

With these, I have no idea how to tell "decorator" from something more valuable (or skilled), but "original painting on silk" does not rule out decorator. Check sold listings on ebay or google "silk tiger paintings" -- that won't tell you the origin/age of yours, but it will give you an idea of what's out there.
