Ormolu candlestick hallmark

I bought a French gilded brass / bronze candlestick. The seller claimed it was early 19th century, but based on its construction, I think it's late 19th century.
There was no mention of a hallmark when I bought it and only noticed it now. Before this I thought it was just some trivial depression or dent. The hallmark is tiny, the size of a medium-sized silver mark.

It seems to say PARIS on the lower side but there's more above that. I'd like to know the possible maker and what information that could unfold about the candlestick.

Looks like the letters above the rooster are F. CAUX? although there is space between the C and A that might change that.

I thought so too, but not sure if it's an F, E or even R. CAUX (or GAUX).
Google doesn't seem to know anything about that. What about the rooster? Clues to the age or when was this particular one used?

The rooster in the middle might be a good clue. Can we see the rest of it?

No. The link shows "fineness" marks that are always separate from the mark of the maker.

The rooster appears to have a similar posture to 'Le coq gaulois' which is said to be "an unofficial national symbol of France".

It even appeared on a coin from 1899 to 1914, "minted at the Paris mint".

Maybe it's one of those symbols that many makers used in their marks. The letters / words of the mark are probably a better clue.
