I started looking up the marks pictured and quickly realized that was days/weeks of research for this newbie. Anyone able to tell fairly quickly? Otherwise, it'll go on my corona projects list. Thank you!

E and Co is usually an Elkington company mark, worth a check maybe ..although on second glance that might be C and Co!

    The castle looks like Edinborough
    C & Co
and the last two letters indicate the date, I believe....that is all I know.

The last 2 letters are EP for electroplate.

Thanks everyone! I love it and it's a heavy piece. It has a home for the $5 I paid for it. My Mom was BIG into silverplate, so it has to be special (have personality) for me to keep.

Bakersgma - remember the poster on the eBay boards who was weirdly obsessed with Corbell? Can't see a piece without him coming to mind...

Even if it is modern, it is a lovely piece.

Yes, I saw Cheryl's post...AFTER I posted my lame guess. I couldn't read the letters and I could not any examples that really looked like them. The C & Co said Collingwood or something, but it didn't look right, either. Then the castle had too many windows, but I saw a couple that looked similar, etc etc etc
Hey, I just try to help people figure stuff out. I certainly don't mind being corrected with facts.:p

Darn - was hoping you'd have a better memory for the details. Can remember him declaring certain pieces as sterling and some sort of bizarre conspiracy theory - dammit, wish my memory would just lose bits & pieces of garbage like that instead of cluttering up my brain...

Heh, wish I didn't - bad enough that it's in my head, but even worse to only remember part...

Years ago I had a nut buy sets of small cups that had the idea that one in each set was some kind of real antique of high value and the others in the set were modern replicas of the same

Bet it was the same guy - he had some special way of telling which ones were 'real', and there was a wacky story involved too...
