Featured Ornate Silver plated tray

    Hi all. Just picked this up a few days ago thinking it might be sterling,until I researched the mark. I had NO idea that "sterling" would be used in a name,I always assumed it was a silver indicator. Fooled me! I also didnt see the numbers until I spent an hour polishing it,or Id have realized before I even bought it. All that being said,I still think its a beautiful piece,soldered handle notwithstanding.All the little scenes are different! Such attention to detail is a lost art.[​IMG]

    It is rather nice, Johnny. Is the edge design a goldtone? Or is that a part where the tarnish hasn't been polished off yet?

    I hope it was an inexpensive lesson.

    No,thats just the light from the stove hood. :) Not expensive at all,a whopping $2.50. It was deeply tarnished,and I could only really make out the sterling so I just knew I had scored! LOL ! I guess I need to get an i-phone after all.mother fell in love with it so it will stick around for a minute,it is fun to look at.It wasnt heavy either,wich also contributed to the "maybe"
