Painted country chair

    hello everyone
    Wondered whether anyone would like to take a shot at dating/classifying this piece?
    Country/primitive chair, with some rudimentary-but-appealing carved and painted detailing to the backrest, peg and nail construction, lots of seemingly original paint that seems to be showing natural wear patterns as far as I can see.

    All I can tell you is that it is likely 20th century. Probably a kitchen chair or, perhaps, a library or school chair.
