    I don't think that's a national costume, think an interpretation of period costume. Slashed clothing was fashionable in the 1500s.

    I agree, a period costume. Maybe from an old painting or print. By one of the German masters?

    The plate is glued to a board so I’m trying to separate it and clean the bottom. Will post pics when done.

    Can’t remember if it was one factory, or several, but plates with Renaissance portraits were made c. 1960s, IIRC.
