What do you think about the painting? When was it painted and where?

What does it look like? The image seems to have losses and is under an old dark varnish, on a small thin board. photo_2025-03-03_19-54-22.jpg photo_2025-03-03_19-54-22 (2).jpg

The clothing is early 19th century the sentiment isn't. Much more likely late 19th century.

So, this time the neural network attributed it to me correctly. The neural network wrote the same thing to me, that the clothes are from the beginning of the 19th century, and the scene is from the end of the 19th century.
the neural network wrote that there was interest in such painting in the second half of the 19th century, and in style it is the second half of the 19th century)).

So, the neural network does not always write nonsense)).

Looks like a retouched and pasted print to me but whatever it is the moisture has destroyed it.

No, it's definitely an oil painting, you can see it in person or in a macro photo, I didn't see anything printed there. There are paint strokes everywhere, not a lithograph.

Close on the figures faces and hands as those are typically the spots where detail is left alone if it's a print. "Retouched" means they painted in some areas to give the effect of a painting. As in the dress collar, but not in areas of small details like eyes and fingers.

There is no paper there, there is something like a thin primer on which oil painting goes. Apparently, it is not visible in the photograph)). There is no paper there.

I thought she was holding a large rock or potato to throw into the river but realise they are holding hands!
This area looks like torn paper?

I was also thinking some kind of print (with some kind or coating) But my knowledge is very limited.

There is loss of primer and bare board is visible.

In general, the painting seems to be in a good condition. It's just that there is a lot of varnish, some unknown fragmentary or something like that, over the painting.

@SSlava -No pun,but are you in Bratislava, and by 'the neural network',you mean AI (Artificial Intelligence) ?
I remember there was a some kind of discussion about it earlier.

I live in the North Caucasus)).

Yes, neural networks are artificial intelligence. Well, for now they often make mistakes, but there is potential for development.
