    What would be the best wording to use for descriptive style of this painting ? Large oil on canvas, dated 1950. s-l1600 (43).jpg

    Well, a landscape obviously. I might call it 20th century Impressionism. Let's see what others have to say.

    It's difficult to pin down any one term for this one, it's somewhat blocked with color in Bauhaus style, and while the application with pallet knife emulates an impressionistic style without the intent of impressionism, the overall style looks 1950s-1960s modernistic to me.

    No signature or date? The frame looks 1950s-1960s to me too.

    So there you go... 20th century Impressionist, Modernist and Expressionist. I suggest you look up definitions for each and then decide what you think is best fit.
