Please don't polish - they look absolutely wonderful the way they are!!!!!!! Anybody can have shiny new looking brass but natural patina definitely "makes" the pieces.

I love their salamander-like feet. They look plenty clean enough - no need to clean, unless you just mean wiping with damp cloth?

    I'll be getaway driver - 50/50 split!

ummm - I don't think these are still available, but ???????? whoah

Any packing recommendations for those, KoT? :) Looks a little like Watts Towers.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

They are beautiful, and unusual compared to others I'm seeing online.

I don't know whether they are Chinese dragons or not, since they look somewhat different from others I see.

Something that I just learned: eBay has a category for Antiques > Asian Antiques > Chinese > Statues > Dragons.
    Just a fun fact.

I think this is Chinese because it has four toes. Five toes would only be made for the Imperial family. Japanese dragons were made with three toes. Wait for someone with more expertise, like khl899, to confirm this information.

I love that! Sounds like a Native American name :) are 4 toes for less than Imperial use, Mill Cove?

    Komo, watch your knee caps...

That would be a yes. When I had researched this a while back, I think I read that it was considered a crime to have 5 toes on your dragon if you were not a royal.

I just found this with a Google search.

"Adding an extra toe to a painting or sculpture of a dragon could be a fatal mistake in ancient China because the five-toed dragon was a symbol of the imperial family. If anyone of lower status presumed to decorate his clothing or household with a five-toed dragon, he risked imperial punishment. For this reason, four-toed dragons are more common in China, and the presence of a five-toed dragon often indicates that a particular work of art was intended for imperial use. Japanese artists usually portrayed dragons with three toes even though the Japanese dragon was also a symbol of imperial power, so the number of toes on a Japanese dragon does not indicate its status."

The face and style of body reminds me of dragons from Bali Indonesia..
    Like the Fire Dragon

And the bug eyes with the flat front teeth and wild K-9's , flat nose and chin hair ....have the look of Barong..

hmmm. Very generous of you, springfld!

I guess they are dragons by the spikes along the backs, but the faces look more (foo) dog-like.

Maybe that's why I like them.
