Pair of unusual figures

    Assume they're 1960s candlesticks from Sweden. But measurements + materials + markings would be helpful. Along with you sharing anything you know about them.

    Ah, Japan. That makes sense. And why material important. (Thought it was wood hence Sweden.) That colorway olive green + baby blue hugely popular in mid-1960s (as was orange + bright pink.)

    Although the Ebay advert says wooden they don't appear to be wooden to me, they look like they could be clay? they are a light grey powdery material inside with small fibres in.

    That seller does say wooden. It does look like the company had some wooden objects and other objects people say paper mache and chalkware.

    Seller mistaken. Certainly not wood. And don't think a true paper mache but described as such. More of a composite material. Lots of colorful & playful Japanese imports made of same during that period, especially coin banks.
