Pair of ? What are these?

    My client thought they were manufactured by Barbedienne but I am not seeing the quality - look more Italian to me but what do I know? Any way, at first I thought they might cassolettes but they only open to dissemble? Are these just decorative shelf sitters, urns or was there truly a purpose for them?

    Sounds like they just sit. As has been suggested about other such things, maybe part of a garniture.

    I think they would look super on a large piece of furniture.
    Are they brass? Cause brass is super hot right now.

    Yeah, I was going to say they look like fancy Urns. Beats the heck out of ZipLock baggies.
