In the apt here in France I have a chest highly similar to this.

A professional 2nd hand goods dealer told me it's palmwood and indeed it's exactly like palmwood. On the 10th pictures if you look closely in the fabric you see the Winnipeg adress and the name. Further research confirm that he was a Winnipeg jeweler/silversmith. I also have the palmwood table that goes with it. The owner a Canadian will ship it back, some antiques dealers came in the apt and they weren't really interested by it. IMG_20250511_182130_optimized_1000.jpg

Why palmwood? Palmwood is a monocot with no central core and very grainy, not particularly suitable for furniture. The jewelry cabinet, particularly the bottom drawer, looks like quarter-sawn oak, the strength and quality of which would be more appropriate for jewelry or silverware storage in any case. I agree with Komo; the table does not appear to make a set with the cabinet, although the drawer pulls match.

Nothing on plaque, the table shade is slightly different but it's also effect of patio door having windows film in the bottom part IMG_20250513_024457_optimized_1000.jpg even with the fingers you feel the fiber.

I agree this sure looks like oak. 1stdibs sellers get it wrong sometimes, but not in this case. Did you notice the link you gave talks about their chest being made of oak?
