I make this submission, although it hardly qualifies for true antique discussion, for that I do apologize. I thought I would submit this item, for more purely historic music post purposes, and because I started to play, and revisit many of my rare records recently, and Patsy’s are among some of my favourites, I’m feeling a little sentimental over my record collection these days. The musicologist crowd, or fans here may appreciate it’s significance. I always have enjoyed her voice. I have several very rare Four Star Promo pressings by her, in very mint condition (dating from 1955 to early 1957).

*This is one such item from my vintage vinyl collection. It is a very rare Four Star Records 45 rpm demo/promo of A Church, A Courtroom, Then Goodbye/Honky Tonk Merry Go Round by Patsy Cline. This recording is a result of Patsy’s first recording contract, and ensuing recording session on June 1, 1955, so this is Patsy’s “first ever” record. The session was held at Bradley Film & Recording Studios, in Nashville.

Hello @blooey I don’t think the actual original Promo copy is listed there. I have not seen one online for sale, actually. I obtained this one a few years back from a private collection when I was visiting Texas. ❤️Maven

@blooey Here is some of the technical info on the Promo 45 itself. As far as the 1955 exact release date, I’ve heard Sept, 1955 through record social circles, and those who know of the sessions ❤️Maven

Gave me chills I tell ya ! I saw a lady twice when I lived in Denver that sounded (and looked) just like Patsy . Close your eyes and youd have sworn it was Patsy.

@johnnycb09 Here is a Canadian born singer who sounds a little like Patsy, especially when she sings that Texas swing. ❤️Maven

I rode my bike through Idaho once listening to Patsy Cline through a small speaker on my handlebars. Wide open spaces, very few cars, listening to her songs: Good times!!
