I went to list these and failed on key words!
I am presuming these are pearls?- they have a slight texture to them and an iridescent slightly silver colour but not gritty (imitation or something else?). The pearly bits are c0.75cm
Is there a correct name for the hooks with the safety catch at the bottom?
Are they classed as drop earrings?
    Thankyou as always :)

Meant to add, I can see through the back and they look like they have been made from one half drilled bead split into two. There are 3 clear ‘layers’ starting with a central core, working out.

That is exactly what it is!. Thankyou Hollyblue, I’ve just googled and it’s spot on.

Wingback is the name for the hooks on the back.
