As these pearls are far from antique, I posted them on a Facebook Jewellery ID page with no luck at all so I’ve come to my senses and am back here to ask if anyone recognises the MS on the heart clasp? Probably just a findings manufacturer but worth a long shot that someone may know?
Also, these gorgeous pearls, what can I learn about them?
They are definitely real and are knotted in between even though it doesn’t look as if they are.
Are this type called anything?, Any way to know where they would have come from?
Likely dyed? or do pearls come that colour?
I suspect you are going to tell me they are too uniform in colour to be naturally coloured and would also be extortionately expensive and would have a gold clasp not silver if undyed.
    What do you think?
    Thankyou :)

Dyed, certainly. I'm thinking a shopping channel.

I am no expert so wait for others. These remind me of Tahitian pearls with that iridescent color.

Could well be. They are that sort of quality. Not rubbish but not high end.
Could be. I’ve just googled and they do look like them.
I struggle a bit with pearls after basic freshwater and seed types.

Dyed but strung well. No idea whose clasp that is.

I don’t see knots or any other spacer between them, which I expect with more expensive pearls, but that doesn’t seem to be as much of an indicator as I once thought.

Dyed doesn’t necessarily mean cheap junk (there are some very expensive examples) but it is a different price category for sure.

With the cheapest dye jobs, a peek inside the hole will show a Pearl of a different color.

Lots of people turn their noses up at freshwater pearls, but I don’t care whether the water was salty or not!

    The shape looks wrong though.

My pearls. 14 k clasp, but not nearly as smooth as yours. Marked 14k IPS China. Don’t know any thing about them or where they came from. 658C5461-4145-4552-BC72-A7DA63B75A57.jpeg

Mine aren’t freshwater pearls though. They are knotted, just very tightly and small knots.
Yes, could be Chinese, I’ll research that avenue! Thankyou

Peacock pearls come in all shapes and sizes. Like regular pearls, freshwater pearls tend to be cheaper.

Peacock pearls come in all shapes and sizes, both freshwater and not. I’m glad they’re knotted, I think they’re pretty and the knotted strands seem to be less likely to damage each other.
