    Hi All!

I've been a pedal car collector for over two decades. My area of interest and familiarity are on vehicles from before WWII.

I'm here to hopefully discover new cars (boats & planes as well) but also to provide information and help answer any questions related to this one very niche area of antiques.

I've attached a couple examples from my collection. 164032377_2173920216072329_322351454291079300_n.jpg IMG_4676.JPG

How interesting! Would you give us dates for the two above, Neal? (Always eager to learn something new.)

More than happy to. The top car is a 1925 American National Packard Six made in Toledo OH. The green car is a Steelcraft (Murray Ohio Mfg) manufactured in 1940 in Cleveland, OH. Below are corresponding catalog pages from each company. A_AmNat-1925---22_edit copy.jpg page_36 copy.jpg

Welcome Neal. Those two are wonderful, amazing that they lived this long, considering how kids can be.
The second one especially looks very good. The bumper has clearly served its purpose, but it is great to see the car in this condition.

Is the 1925 model the earliest in your collection?

Pedal cars had a good run from 1910 to 1970. While there are around a half dozen notable US manufacturers/brands that people collect from that 60 year span, I primarily collect American National 1924 - 1929 and Steelcraft 1937 - 1941. My collection is not as robust as many other collections due the level of condition that I seek. To answer your question, I have two 1924 cars that I am adding to my collection this summer. Those will be my earliest/oldest.

Awesome! I occasionally see pedal cars at sales but they're always rusty.

I have not been their Tanya. I will make a note of it. I was able to see some of their pedal cars on their Facebook page. Thank you for the heads up.

I wish my collection was a WHOLE LOT bigger. I have one of the smaller collections among my peers but I certainly will be happy to post more as a way to familiarize this community with a small corner of the pedal car world.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That would be nice. I like to read informative threads.

I was at an auction where the remains of biggest pedal car I have ever seen were sold. It was in pretty bad shape. I bought a suitcase of the family photos at that sale and There was a photo of the very tall Father and three kids in the car. If I can find it (big If) since i retired from my antique store front everything is boxed up and I sell it off on line. If I come across it I will post the picture. From 1920's
