Featured Pedestal Table with lion's paw feet: Any ideas?

I know next to nothing about furniture but inherited a number of antique & vintage pieces from my mother. I think this pedestal table is one of the antiques. 27.75" x 27.75" top. 29.25" H. Do you call the feet "claw feet," "lion feet," "paw feet, " or what? What kind of wood? Any ideas on age? Value? My mother (1920-2017) told me she got some of her antique furniture from her older sister, who inherited from her father-in-law, but some of it was just sitting in pieces the basement and was going to be thrown out. Mom put them back together & refinished them. That was decades ago. Not sure if this was one of those pieces, but it could have been. The father-in-law owned the local brick company (NE Ohio). An appraiser told my mother that some of the other furniture from him was 19th century English & 19th century French. Of course, could be American as well. From searching the web, I thought the closest pieces were Regency tea tables, but those have features like flip-open tops & metal (brass) paw feet, & I doubt it is that old. I thought maybe a Victorian tea table, but I am totally guessing. Any ideas? Are my pic good enough? Are other details needed?

That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!"

I’d call it an oak table with paw feet and a quarter-sawn top ca. 1910s-20s. It looks to be multi-functional; certainly dining but it could also function as a work table, center table, etc.

Whether you call the feet paw or claw is not terribly significant, although claw implies the presence of more fully articulated nails or talons.

Agree with Ghopper. Often called a lamp table as well. Value with the damaged/repaired top would be minimal.

Thank you very much. This is really useful--antique (just) but not valuable. I am hoping to keep it IF I can find the room with all the other inherited items that I want even more. It also had some nice "beading" (Is that the right word?) along the edge.

This is so helpful--WHEN to press "Full Image." I kept pressing after adding each pic & the site/page would disappear. So now I know--just wait til the end.

Lovely table! I like the beading too.

I too, have inherited a number of antique furniture items, and I find so many uses for tables this size, even if it’s next to a desk to put extra papers on etc. This has a nice shape and design, and it can go with so many styles.

“They don’t make ‘em like this anymore”. Handsome as can be. As a collectible the damage may hurt its value. As a handsome and functional piece of furniture if it were mine I think I could still get $150-$300 somewhat easily in my market. Good quarter sawn oak always seems to attract folks.
