I think this is meant to be strung on a necklace. It’s completely sealed and holds liquid without leaks. The top screws on and oddly enough has it’s own tiny chain. Any guess for ballpark age? 85216208-A8E4-4C37-AA4E-87590EF54679.jpeg 181046CE-7CFE-4355-BAF1-DB38B1BB67E9.jpeg 1F72518B-9625-4788-B7A1-78A2961F26A0.jpeg 2D980E6E-22DA-42E0-89E6-D9CE4F393B61.jpeg

It's not odd if the loose end of the chain were attached somewhere so you wouldn't drop the dipper & have it roll away.

I agree with 1970s. That woven look was big then. Speaking of the 70s,if that dauber had a spoon on the end it would have been perfect to carry another 70s favorite in . :)

I get a French feeling, 1930s. in French they differ between cuivre jaune - rouge - blanc as different alloys.

Yup, 1970s-80s from India - there were all sorts of woven brass pieces, sometimes tri-color, sometimes bi-color, lot of my friends had the useless little disco bags, usually bought at World Bazaar (couldn't stand the smell of the metal, and here in steamy Florida, they'd start forming verdigris pretty fast). Saw some of the jewelry, bracelets, earrings, etc., in department stores just a few years ago...

I still have a fair bit of that woven brass. As y'all have said, 1970s from India.

The 70s were big on the tri color gold thing, 14k and costume.
