Could anyone please shed some light on my pewter tankard markings?
    Kindest Regards

Welcome, sarah! It would be best for you to 1) edit your original post to change the photo attachment from Thumbnail to Full Image and 2) to take and post close up pictures (as Full Images) of the 4 marks across the top and of the component parts of the larger mark in the middle.

    Hi Bakers.
The picture was zoomed in of the small markings underneath . I’ve tried but can’t get any closer. Thank you for your help so far

Okay - the shape looks much like the Scottish "pot-bellied" tankard, but the thumbpiece isn't so definitive. I am by no means an expert in this stuff - much better at more recent pewter markings from the UK and US. Problem is Pat's pewter marks site was very much a work in progress when he died. :(

Thanks for getting that closer image, sarah. I have a feeling like I have seen those 4 small ones before - right here on Antiquers - bur I don't remember the outcome.

@i need help Any chance you can search the site for those marks - maybe just the 2nd from the right with the 3 dots?

Just had a look on eBay - do you think the markings are like this one? Not sure on the large marking above‍♀️ B80460DB-0BE9-4855-9E1B-E2B7737AC4CE.jpeg

The one you found on eBay seems that it "may" have at least 2 of the 4 small marks that are on yours, Sarah. But what is above them on the eBay one bears no resemblance to yours, I'm afraid. But at least we can see that one was made in England to it makes sense to focus searches there.

I was kind of surprised not to see any posts from @i need help while I was gone. She must be busy.

I haven’t found anything yet. I was looking at Pseudo marks. And yes making Lasagna, as it’s hubbys birthday. :)

The soul of Ladybranch is still here. Note she identified the one in the old thread as a "Scottish pot-bellied measure" (as opposed to tankard.) Are there any measure marks on yours, sarah? How much liquid does it hold?

@sarah shipton Be sure to read all the way through that old thread - a second example with marks that look very much like yours (including the "feathery" design around a central crowned rose, like yours) is pictured at the very end.

The conclusion on age for both the original subject of that thread and the second example at the end is mid-20th century (roughly 1950) and I believe that also applies to yours.
