My wife found this photo at an antique store in Burnet, Tx. It's 11" x 14". She bought the frame at Walmart. There were also some smaller 5" x 7" photos of the same woman that she picked up however she gave these to our granddaughter who at the time was interested in old photos. The first photo is with flash, the 2nd one without. She appears to be a very well off woman. I'm just not sure what the year or decade is that she's from.

Some people around here know how to date photos from the clothing; I can't.
    Nice photo! :)

Between the Gibson hairdo and high necked dress, I'd guess 1890-something to around 1905.

I agree with evelyb on the date range. And, though she does look "distinguished," she wasn't necessarily "well-to-do." Going to the photography studio to get a portrait made was an occasion for dressing in your very best clothes. It certainly made for an impressive picture!

I prefer the ones without clothing. (no Komo...females only)
It's not necessary for me to concern myself with the era.

I got "well to do" and "well endowed" mixed up! :(

Thank you, I just wish there was something on the back of the photo but there isn't.

Thanks, that's why she picked it up. She was really struck by her eyes.

If Bill Murray can beat up a horse size duck your army of well... duck size ducks will amount to nothing! :D

The blouse is a nice piece but not something that says "well to do" Well to do would have better jewelry. It's a nice picture. Fun for a display.

So serious but lovely bones. The face of a character actress. And, no. Not well-to-do but quite respectable.

She doesn't have earrings; if I remember correctly pierced earrings were considered "fast" at this point.
