Featured Picked up this necklace today never seen one like it how would you describe it?

I liked it and for only a dollar i couldnt pass it up, it has seen better days but I've never seen one like it before and it's nice and heavy feels well made. I' thinking of listing it online but not quite sure how to describe it to bring the right shoppers to it? Have any suggestions?

 

It's...odd. it's a mix of 50s Conventional with 50s Modernist. Eisenhower-era Schizophrenic? I don't know how to classify it either.

Is there something stamped on that clasp bar in the last pic?

 

There isn't it' just bad picture quality making it look like it is..

 

I do like modernist as well as brutalist it's got both qualities I think now, Schizophrenic I'm not sure I'm not a dr lol

 

Classic pearl necklace with a Modernist focal piece. Are the pearls real? The clasp could even be Art Deco.
But it doesn't have any Brutalist characteristics, this is Brutalist:

 

No they arent real unfortunatey they may be coated glass since they are heavy but way to big to be real at about 3/4 of and inch in size.

 

What about calling it a statement necklace?

Do you think it could be broken and there is something missing? Otherwise is looks like someone's craft project made of miscellaneous bits to me.

Try photographing it against a white background in better light. The photos really don't do it justice. Don't use a flash.

 

I' going to take pictures using the milk jug method in the AM since it' already dark here hopefully someone might better be able to describe it

 

So I took these in natural light hoping to get some clarity to these. I did notice at the points where the pendant and the clasp are tied there is like a metal thread I'm guessing for extra support, maybe this is a signature move for a particular maker?

 

I've seen that before...lots...it's not a signature mark..

 

That's right, you see it on many bead necklaces.

 

Called french wire or bullion. It helps keep the silk thread from rubbing and wearing out.

 

It means someone cared when they made the necklace.

 

I wonder if the holes on the back of the pendant might have held something else? To my eye,there seems to be something missing from it.
