This vase piqued my interest. It's got a females head on profile stuck on the side in the middle of gilding and I'm wondering if it represents a queen from somewhere. She's not ceramic or glass but something softer like bakelite or resin and it looks like it is not the first time she's come off as there is yellowed glue and clean glue visible. The pontil is also interesting as it almost looks like a makers mark. Any ideas where she's from??

Italian copy, 60s, of a Bohemian sulphide.

She won't be Bakelite since she is molded, not carved :)

Face jugs are sold quite frequently at the auction house & they fall into the category of "they give me the creeps". ;):p:rolleyes::rolleyes: :hilarious::hilarious:

Several years back there was one of the devil jugs come through. When the buyer who had paid around $3K walked by me I commented "if you are going to spend that kind of money at least spend it on something pretty". :p:rolleyes::rolleyes: :D:D

Of course, he did think it was wonderful but each to their own.:happy:
