I've been curious about this piece for a while. I've always wrote it off as a hobbyist piece, but now I want to affirm this thought. This piece is really heavy, around the weight of stoneware. Also, the decoration seems a little too well done for an average hobbyist. The bottom is white, flat, completely glazed, and has no stilt marks. I've seen plaid designs on china from the 1950's (mainly stetson), but none like this or with this pitcher form. Any thought are appreciated. Thanks, Joe

I might have just solved this. I think it is a blue striped stoneware pitcher with a makeover. There are several different variations of this stoneware pitcher.

Yours is taller, thinner, and has a different shaped handle & spout.
I would bet it was made this way originally - not a makeover.
    Can we see the bottom?
    (I really like it!)

I don't have a photo of the bottom. The bottom is the same color white as the handle, it is completely glazed, flat, and has no marks or stilt marks.

I've seen this plaid design somewhere and it's going to drive me bonkers until I remember or until someone here comes up with an ID
