    Proudly recovered in brown Naugahyde!
I was wondering if these were American or not, and when they were made.
    Thank You!

    First, where are you?

The chairs look American, oak, ca. 1915, 1920, first quarter of the 20th century.

The word "Naugahyde" cracks me up. I want to go Nauga hunting!

I guess you could do worse with reupholstering, if you can't afford leather.

    Thank You! Great to know.

I can remember as a kid the seats were all worn out and had pillows on them. I’m not sure when they got redone as I haven’t seen them in 30 years until now.
Does the fact that there are 8 of these help the value at all or is it just a matter of addition? I realize they’re very valuable to start with.

I guess that makes sense. Not too many people want to store extra chairs just for the once or twice a year holidays, plus I imagine not a ton of full sized dining tables around anyway.

Not so much. American Mission oak but not by one of the sought after makers as far as I can tell. A half dozen years a go a set of 8 of these would have brought a premium. Much harder sale these days, as the style has fallen out of favor a bit. I, personally, would not split them up. Think there is still someone out there that wants 8.

    I think there's a NOT , that's missing in that sentence !
