Plated copper bowl with mark

A nickel(?) plated hand-made -looking copper bowl / plate that's been polished a lot. It has some weight, or at least isn't one of those super-thin ones. I have a feeling it could be more than a recent eastern souvenier, but that's where my knowledge and ideas end. It seems to have a maker's mark of some sort, see the last picture below for that.

 

This is a classic new made to look old piece. It's a cool decorator item if you're into the look. I'd guess it was made in India.

 

Ok. That's a bit dissapointing, but I guess sometimes this happens: buying something thinking it's old, but it's not.
