Featured Please can someone identify/value this?

This piece is over 60 years old - My grandmother had it when she was a child. It's also got 2 glass shelves that go inside - But I have no idea exactly where it is from/how old and if it's worth anything. It's EXTREMELY heavy and is over 2.2 meters tall.

Seems it came from India

 

Some sort of Eastern import. India, China, Indonesia. Interior form and construction is very similar to an armoire I had from China. Exterior is quite different. Don't believe it to be antique.

As for age, you know it's from at least the late 1950s. Where did your grandmother live as a child? (What country, I mean.)

 

It looks like a piece my Aunt & Uncle had. They purchased it at Pier 1 Imports back in the late 60's when Pier 1 had unusual items and not at all like the things they sell today. Back then, I think they imported from places like India, Philippines, Mexico and Bali.

 

think its called a haveli [farmhouse] armoire from palace doors in rajastan [sp?]
