Please Help Date Meissen Mark.

    Can you all please help date the style of this Meissen mark? There's an impressed number '4' near the footrim.

    I believe it dates to the 19th or early-20th C. ???

    @'Nuff_Said I believe the design/pattern is called Indian, very nice!

    The most optimistic date would be 1815-1860. Look especially at the second image above for that date range, and compare the differences between the two crosses in that image to the differences between the two crosses on your piece. more especially, Also the swords in your piece are longer, or more narrowly painted than those in later marks, and more similar to those in the earlier date range.
    The third and fourth images are marks from 19thc Meissen Indian Pink pieces for comparison.
    The firth image is a post-1948 Meissen Indian Pink plate for comparison.
    Finally, the 6th & 7th images are of an 1860-1924 Meissen Indian Pink plate - the date range you guessed. To my eye, your plate is earlier. Hope this helps more than confuses.
