would need to see more details because the style is well known to be earlier than 1970s. Franco's family had a production - besides a factory for carpets etc.

The style originated much earlier, but it is a style they kept making in Spain. This one looks 1960s-70s to me.
    Looks like two separate pieces.

    Could also be from Mexico.

why not ? very typical in coffered technique; everywhere probably in Spanish colonies.

Ouch! That's a marriage. It's a little desk being visually crushed by a cabinet half on top. Dunno what the pieces beneath are/where they belong. (Hard to see in your photograph.) Spanish, I'd think, as a bit less rústico than what one would expect from México. Not old-old. I'd even guess later than 1970 because of the exaggerated cornice.

Could be a hanging wall cupboard that just happens to be sitting on a small table?

No. Top is much too big and heavy to hang. It's a top that would sit on a lower cupboard. Here's a quick grab off the internet to give you an idea -- rough -- of what it should look like.

Do you own these pieces? Where did you get them? And what were you told about them?

LOL, Good Luck with that! It's probably my most frequent comment!
There is a tutorial at top of furniture page that urges posters to offer location which few pay any attention to for whatever reason, kinda important with furniture though, particularly with old furniture.

My most frequent comment is... Is there anything on the other side?

My neighbor was throwing it out. They are two different pieces. Here are more pictures. IMG_4105.JPG IMG_4107.JPG IMG_4108.JPG IMG_4109.JPG IMG_4111.JPG IMG_4112.JPG IMG_4114.JPG IMG_4118.JPG IMG_4115.JPG IMG_4119.JPG

Thank you for the additional photographs. Hope you'll be able to put the pieces to use.

Yes, it is. The hanging cupboard was probably made after a bread cupboard.

I will bow to your superior knowledge but looks much too large to my eye to safely hang. (And hooks much too flimsy.)

Agree, they look flimsy. They could be more sturdy than they look though, and the cupboard could weigh less than at first glance. It is not top quality, and apparently it was made to hang.
But given it didn't cost anything, Nicole probably doesn't bother too much about all that.
