I picked this piece up from an estate sale and just saw it glows under a blacklight. Hoping someone to help me to identify who made it. Thank you IMG_20170928_143511.jpg IMG_20170928_143625.jpg IMG_20170928_143702.jpg IMG_20170928_143653.jpg

Hi Crystal - I don't know for sure if yours is Viking - bug Viking did make a lot of these "swung" glass vases - and the colors look like a fit for Viking to me. I have a few amber/orange pieces that glow under black light too - they glow a fiery orange color. From what I've been able to find, the glowing is probably from the cadmium used to make the glass red.

Awesome thank you so much for your help . I also have a smaller version of the same exact vase. Do you know what time period its from ?

Not sure exactly when they started making this style of vase but a general timeframe they were popular would be 1960's --> 1980's. Might be another maker like L.E. Smith or even Fenton. There are a lot of these kicking around.

So how would I be able to tell the difference? I'm sure there are differences between them right?

Someone more informed than me will probably see this thread and be able to give you a more specific ID - the world of glass - especially newer glass like this - is VAST - there are many books, and old catalogs - there is some info online but most of it is still in books - or in the minds of very knowledgeable folks.
