    Looks like a pipe. Here's a similar one -

    This is the way the mark should be positioned in order to read it. I can't read it myself; I'm sure someone will come along that can.

    I would think more likely it's vintage at the most, could be newer, but I don't think it's antique.

    Yes, it is recent, made to look a little older.
    The mark is probably a manufacturer's mark. Or it just says: brass pipe.;)

    It says 'Silver' in Chinese, but it does not appear to be so.

    Wouldn't surprise me. If it were a bit narrower I'd think it was a cigarette holder, used to keep milady's cancer stick from staining her fingers or her gloves.

    A friend had a mate from work who had his name in Chinese characters tattooed on his arm (or so he thought). They happened to be in a bar in China on a hot summer evening, and a guy next to them took a glance at this guy's arm and started to laugh uncontrollably. They asked what was the matter, and he said it read "do not iron"
