Hello All, I have found a few similar things but my research techniques are not as good as many here. I found this at an estate sale. Any info on the marks? Date? Origin? Is it for tobacco? Thank you! IMG_6215 (1).jpg IMG_6217.jpg IMG_6222.jpg IMG_6225.jpg IMG_6227.jpg IMG_6228.jpg IMG_6233.jpg

Could be a Dutch tobacco box.The date on the box is 1743.;)
The coat of arms seems to have something to do with the van Horne family. Many Dutch and Belgian towns used to have a connection with the family.

I wasn't sure it was really that old! Just wanting someone with more knowledge to look at it.

Should I clean it or leave it alone?
