I have bought this small watercolor of three girls. Could you please help me with age, origin and the signature? Thank you very much in advance!

Looks like "L Berger à Paris".

Thank you, that sounds good! From the dresses and style I would think it is early 19th c, am I right?

The fashion types need to see this, but my guess would be more 1850-ish.

Thank you! Maybe the hair could be a hint too, that reminds me of early Victorian style, 1830s-1840s?

I think your right in the time frame, possibly a tad earlier since photography was pretty much a thing by the 1850s. Im curios, what is the size? If small enough,it may be on ivory? Got a pic of the back?

I thought 1830s from the clothes and hair. It's very well done, I'm guessing by an itinerant painter. The heads and bodies are out of proportion.

Very Nice!! It almost has that "miniature on porcelain" look!!

Yes, the heads are a bit big for the bodies, but I really like it. The size of the painting itself is 12.5 x 9.5 cm, and it is on paper. found a miniature portrait painter named Berger (1783-1867) who was living in Paris, but his first name was Philippe, and I have problems seeing that in my signature, right? Here is also the picture of the back, I am not sure if it is the original one or a replacement? The screws are brass or bronze...

There was also a portrait painter named Jenny Berger, active in Paris between 1806 and 1834, maybe she could be the one. I just cannot find any portraits painted by her.

I'm seeing Berget, but it's not easy to see online.
